Sea Turtles at Jamaica Inn

Jamaica Inn – Ocho Rios

Jamaica Inn – Ocho Rios, a JHTA member, has embarked on a mission to help improve turtle numbers through its Jamaica Inn Foundation, which is also working with others to create a fish sanctuary along the north coast of Jamaica.

The Jamaica Inn Foundation also takes care of beaches where Hawksbill turtles arrive to lay their eggs. This also covers protecting the nests from all kinds of predators until the hatchlings can make it into the sea after their possibly perilous dash to the sea.

We are told that the Hawksbill turtle is a critical element in helping keep our sea grass beds and coral reefs sublime.
