Turtle Beach – Off main Street (accessible from the car park of the Ocean Village Shopping Centre) Ocho Rios The main beach in Ocho Rios is Turtle Beach, stretching out for about 500m along the east side of Ocho Rios Bay. Sun beds and umbrellas are available for hire, and it is possible to try out a wide range of water sports (scuba diving, jet skis and kayaks are all available). There is a roped-off swimming area in the sea which is very flat and (thanks to the gradual slope of the sea bed) warm. Food and drink is available on the beach, as are changing rooms, showers and toilets. A small fee must be paid to gain entry, you can get your hand stamped to allow re-entry later in the day.
Reggae Beach was a 250 acre property which was located in Jamaica, mid-way between Ocho Rios and Oracabessa. It has since been renamed to Bamboo Beach due to the leasing of the property and the activities which take place there. The beach itself is a beautiful long stretch of sand protected by cliffs on either end. Reggae Beach was known as one of the quieter, less-crowded beaches in Jamaica and is considered as one of the island’s best-kept secrets. In the evenings, dinner and music are served under the stars with an array of beach food with fish and lobster as the main attractions. Reggae Beach was renowned for its Friday after-work jams which carry on till late evenings., with a bonfire, DJs and live band.
Fisherman’s Beach is located right near to the cruise ship pier in Ocho Rios. You can visit the beach via Island Village Plaza after checking out the Duty Free shopping, or access via Margaritaville while sipping delicious cocktails. You can also access the Fishermen’s Beach here where the local people like to party.
Dunn’s River Falls, a beautiful natural waterfall near Ocho Rios, Jamaica. All of that water rushing down the falls has to go somewhere. But it doesn’t go just anywhere – it empties out into the Caribbean Sea at a beautiful beach. For some, the beach is as big of an attraction as the waterfall is, and much fun can be had enjoying the blue water of the Caribbean at Dunn’s River Falls beach.
Puerto Seco is a long white-sand beach stretching off to palm trees in the distance, lapped by calm shallow water. A beach hub for families, it’s lined with snack bars and vendors hiring boats and skis. A waterslide and playground for the kids adds to the fun. There are changing facilities at the beach, thatch huts for shade, food vendors and snorkel hire.
